CLOSING EVENT OF THE PROJECT TOOK PLACE IN ANKARA

On the 5th December 2017 the Closing Event of the Twinning Project “Capacity Building Concerning Presentation and Usage of the General Government Financial Statistics” took place at the premises of Court of Accounts in Ankara. The main aim of event was to present and discuss the project results with the relevant stakeholders and authorities.
After the opening speech delivered by Mr Seyit Ahmet Baş – President of Turkish Court of Accounts, Mr Cengiz Yavilioğlu – Deputy Minister-Ministry of Finance, Mr Gabriel Munuera Vinals – Deputy Head of EU Delegation to Turkey and Mr Filippo Colombo – Deputy Head of Italian Embassy in Turkey, intervened developing their views on the importance of cooperation regarding transparency of public finance and public finance statistics. Mr Ertan Eruz – DGPA General Director provided an overview of the project results and strategic developments foreseen by the Directorate General of Public Accounts.
Furthermore, BC PL Mr. Yusuf Gezbeli detailed the achievements of the Twinning project and the exchange of best practices exchange provided by all involved experts during the close to two years of activity. MS RTA Mr Nicola Ianutolo provided figures on the project implementation and suggested a number of key elements for the success of the project. MS PL Ms Aline Pennisi underlined the accomplishments and some recommendations for future work.
More than 65 attendees (including high level government officials) among which representatives coming from Presidency and Prime Ministry of Republic of Turkey, Court of Accounts, Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Ministry of Transport-Maritime Affairs and Transportation, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Energy and Natural Sources, Ministry for EU Affairs, Turkstat, EUD to Turkey, CFCU and MS Institutions participated to the event.
Hand copies of the Twinning project materials and main outputs (Guidelines for Public Financial Analysis Techniques and Citizens Final Account Report 2016) were distributed to the participants.
