A Workshop on “Methods and tools for financial performance evaluation: the EU and Italian experiences and perspectives for Turkey” took place on 29th November 2017 at the Ministry of Finance Conference Hall with the participation of about 70 attendees coming from DGPA -among which Financial Statistics Head of Department Mr. Ismail Barinir – Parliament, Treasury, Ministry of Development, Turkstat, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of National Education, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Ministry of Customs and Trade.
The event was organized within the framework of the Twinning Project to share the analysis and methodologies discussed with the BC during the project, with a special focus on the EU planning cycle and overall system of economic rules and the Italian and international experiences concerning financial performance indicators and methodologies. The event was also an opportunity to outline the extended English version of the Guidelines, that are the output of Component 4 of the Project, devoted at improving the public financial analysis techniques, and the summary version in Turkish prepared by the BC experts.
A series of presentations informed participants on how the Twinning project activities supported the Beneficiary staff in improving its capacity to evaluate public finance data, in terms of analysis that can be carried on both on the balance sheets of single administrative units and at a macro level on general government (and its subsectors) data.
Some ideas for possible future developments, particularly in the field of financial analysis at the single entity level were also offered.
